In separate incidents, the Border Security Force (BSF) has made two significant drug-related recoveries near the international border. In Rajasthan’s Gharsana, BSF troops discovered a Pakistan-origin drone and two packets of suspected narcotics weighing nearly two kilograms. The alert troops detected the drone during the night, and upon investigation, the drugs were found near the site. The recovery highlights the ongoing challenges posed by cross-border smuggling activities.

In another incident, in the Ferozepur district of Punjab, BSF personnel conducting an area domination patrol came across suspicious footprints near Gandhi Kilcha village. During the subsequent search operation, they uncovered 14 small packets of suspected heroin weighing approximately 500 grams. The heroin packages were wrapped with yellow adhesive tape, indicating a possible illicit consignment.

These seizures add to the string of recent drug-related recoveries in the region. Earlier in June, a joint operation between the BSF and Punjab Police led to the rescue of a substantial consignment of heroin dropped by Pakistani drones on the outskirts of Amritsar. The collaborative ambush team detected the sound of drones and recovered five packets of suspected narcotics in a farm field.

These incidents highlight the persistent efforts of security forces to combat drug smuggling across the border. The discoveries demonstrate the evolving tactics employed by smugglers and emphasize the importance of vigilance and effective border security measures to counter such illicit activities. Authorities continue to work tirelessly to disrupt drug networks and safeguard communities from the detrimental effects of narcotics trafficking.
