Blackouts have been announced in Punjab till 5 AM. In New Delhi, India Gate has been evacuated by the Police.

In view of the situation, the Punjab government has set up a control room to help the citizens. In case of any emergency, people can contact on numbers 0172-2741803 and 0172-2749901. The state government has appealed to the people to maintain peace and trust only official information.

Power supply was disrupted following reports of drone and missile attacks in Jammu, Samba, Pathankot and RS Pura. A complete blackout has been imposed in Amritsar, Ferozepur, Jaisalmer and Kupwara from 9 pm to 5 am. A blackout has also been imposed in border areas like Jammu, Akhnoor and Kishtwar so that there is no hindrance in military activities.

Several Pakistani missiles and an F-16 fighter jet destroyed:

Around 8 missiles fired by Pakistan were destroyed mid-air by the S-400 air defence system, averting a major catastrophe. A Pakistani F-16 fighter jet was also shot down near Sargodha. Apart from this, the Indian defence system has also foiled around 30 Pakistani missiles in Jaisalmer.

The Indian military has intercepted a Pakistani drone over Jaisalmer in Rajasthan. Late Thursday, air raid sirens sounded across cities in Punjab and Rajasthan, and in Jammu and Kashmir, and complete blackouts were ordered to protect civilian and military infrastructure. Eight Pak missiles were fired at targets in J&K alone; all were intercepted by air defence units. Pathankot in Punjab, which is just 30km from the Pak border and serves as the access point to the union territory, is under blackout, as is Chandigarh, which is less than 250km from Delhi.
