A writ petition that was filed by Satish Salian, the father of late celebrity manager Disha Salian, was scheduled for the hearing before the Bombay High Court on April 2. Satish Salian has petitioned a fresh investigation into his daughter’s death and asked Aditya Thackeray of UBT Shiv Sena to be interrogated.

On 8th June 2020, Disha Salian, former manager of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, was found dead after she was said to have fallen from a high-rise building in Mumbai. This happened just before Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in his own Bandra apartment on June 14, 2020, causing many to speculate that there was a connection between the two deaths.

Political opponents, as well as sections of the public, have connected him, Aditya Thackeray, to the case, and he has strongly denied involvement. Thackeray responded by saying: “There have been a lot of people trying to defame me over the last five years. We will speak in court since the matter is in court.” Continuing, he said that he would not make any further public statements while the legal process was underway.

Also, the advocate of Satish Salian has served a copy of the petition to Sameer Wankhede, who was the Director of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) when Disha was killed. The lawyer of Wankhede, Faizan Merchant, confirmed that his client would file a detailed affidavit in the High Court, refuting all the allegations and explaining his role.

In the court proceedings, Sameer Wankhede is expected to present evidence collected by him in the official investigation of the case. The Bombay High Court will now be the only spectator as it hears the pleas on April 2, which could potentially rekindle the interest of the public in the controversial case.
