Mumbai: According to media reports, Wockhardt Hospital on Mira Road in Mumbai got a bomb threat via email on Monday. Police blocked the hospital’s premises to prevent people from leaving after they received a bomb threat. According to Mira-Bhayandar and Vasai-Virar (MBVV) police, the bomb squad and dog squad have arrived at the scene for an investigation.
Similar to this, on June 12, a mental health facility in the Indore district of Madhya Pradesh got an email with a bomb threat, which was subsequently determined to be a prank. After learning of the threat, the police and the Bomb Disposal Squad’s (BDS) team travelled to the hospital in the city’s Banganga neighbourhood. They searched the facility, but they were unable to uncover anything.
Bomb threat emails were received in New Delhi on June 12 by a number of museums, including the National Museum, Rail Museum, and two mental health institutions, IHBAS (Institute of Human Behaviour and Allied Sciences) and VIMHANS (Vidyasagar Institute of Mental Health, Neuro, and Allied Sciences). According to the officials, the searches turned up nothing unusual, and the calls were eventually determined to be a hoax.
The National Museum in Kartavya Path, the Gandhi Museum in Daryaganj, the Rail Museum in Chanakyapuri, and several other museums received the emails claiming that the bomb was hidden on their premises.
According to the officials, two hospitals, Vimhans Hospital in Lajpat Nagar and IHBAS in Shahdara, have received the same kind of threat emails.
