Tikiapara, West Bengal: A scary atmosphere occurred in West Bengal’s South Eastern railway division where a bomb was found near the railway tracks. The incident occurred near the Tikiapara carshed just a few meters away from the busy Howrah station. The bomb squad of the CID recovered the bomb after 5 hours from near the railway tracks of Tikiapara. Train services were disrupted for these hours in the South Eastern Division. Both long-distance and local train services were stopped for a while.
After finding the bomb, the RPF immediately informed the higher authorities. As per reports, there was an argument between the RPF (Railway Protection Force) and GRP (Government Railway Police) about who will recover the bomb. But in the end, the bomb squad of the CID came to the rescue and recovered the bomb from around 15 feet away from the Tikiapara railway tracks.
Several passengers got off the trains after getting scared and started walking towards Howrah station. No casualties have been reported yet. An investigation is on for the case. Some bomb-making materials and other explosives were also recovered from the area. After the recovery, the train services were brought back to normal.
