Bollywood: Due to a rise in the Covid-19 cases, the release date of ‘Bunty Aur Babli 2’ has been postponed. The movie is produced by Yashraj Films and it was supposed to release on April 23. The release dates of other movies like Haathi Mere Saathi, Pauuda are also being pushed till further notice. The new release date of Bunty Aur Babli 2 will be announced later by the makers.
The news was confirmed on Twitter by Taran Adarsh, an Indian film critic, and trade analyst. He tweeted, “#BreakingNews: #BuntyAurBabli2- which was scheduled to release in *cinemas* on 23 April 2021 – has been postponed…. #YRF will announce the new release date later. #SaifAlikhan, #RaniMukerji, #SiddhantChaturvedi #Shavari”.
New restrictions are implemented in certain parts of the country, mainly in Maharashtra due to the second wave of Covid-19. So, the producer of the movie, Aditya Chopra has decided to postpone the release of the film. A trade source revealed, “Aditya Chopra is playing the big game of making theatricals make a huge comeback and he is extremely confident that Bunty Aur Babli 2 will entertain the whole of India. He wants to hold the film and not release it at a time when the country is experiencing a huge spike of Covid-19 cases”.
Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukerji were blockbuster Jodi in Hum Tum, Ta Ra Rum Pum, and Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic. The film reunites both the stars who will be seen playing the ‘original’ Bunty and Babli.
