As the condition of the Taliban-occupied Afghanistan keeps deteriorating day by day, Indians over here seem to be equally disturbed as they are! Not only the commoners but the Bollywood celebrities have also expressed concern over the dramatic situation in Afghanistan and posted on their social media handles about the ongoing turmoil.
From veteran actress Hema Malini to leading lady of Bollywood Anushka Sharma, all took to their social media handles to express grief and solidarity to the Afghan refugees.
Hema Malini recalled shooting her film “Dharmatma” in the “once peaceful” Afghanistan. She took to her Twitter handle to post a picture from her movie that featured Feroz khan and her and wrote, “What is happening to a happy, once peaceful nation, Afghanistan, is truly sad. My great memories of Afghanistan date back to ‘Dharmatma’- I play a gypsy girl & my portion was shot entirely there. Had a great time as my parents were with me and Feroz Khan took good care of us”. Not to be forgotten, Dharmatma was the first Bollywood movie to be shot in Afghanistan.
On the other hand, actress Rhea Chakraborty also took to her Instagram handle to express concern for women’s safety in Afghanistan now. She wrote, “While women around the globe fight for pay parity, women in Afghanistan are being sold…They have become the pay. Heartbroken to see the condition of women and minorities in Afghanistan”. She further added, “Urge the global leaders to stand up to this. #smash the patriarchy…women are human too”. Apart from them, Farhan Akhtar, Anushka Sharma, Anurag Kashyap, Richa Chadha, and other Bollywood celebrities also expressed grief and concern over the ongoing situation in Afghanistan.
