BALAGHAT: An Air Safety Team (AST) of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation that arrived at Birsi airport in Gondia district of Maharashtra on Sunday successfully collected necessary evidences into the Balaghat aircrash said an official on Monday.
Shafiq Shah, in-charge of Birsi Airport, said, ” the team has reached the spot and assessed the flight direction, and its speed. The team has gathered meaningful evidences he added stating that the team had taken thr black box with it to investogate further.
On Sunday, the bodies of flight instructor pilot Mohit Thakur and trainee pilot Vrikshanka Maheshwari who were killed in the aircraft crash in Balaghat district were handed over to their families.
Thakur (24) was a resident of Brungal in Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh and trainee pilot Maheshwari (19) hailed from Gandhidham in Kutch district of Gujarat.
