The proposal by Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader and former foreign minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari suggests that intelligence sharing with India could lower terrorism in South Asia. At a press conference in the United Nations in New York on Tuesday, Bilawal suggested that ISI and RAW teaming up could greatly reduce terrorism in both countries. Pakistan said this while trying to calm the situation created by the recent India-Pakistan dispute.

Bilawal is at present leading a senior delegation to the United States to get support from other nations following India’s actions. While Congress MP Shashi Tharoor is leading an interest group in Washington DC, he made his comments. The Indian team will hold meetings with people in the US Congress, government officials, researchers and journalists to present their view on Operation Sindoor and what it means for the fight against cross-border terrorism.

The developments were set against the deadly April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, which killed 26 people and made tensions between the neighbours worse. India carried out details strikes within Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir on May 7. Pakistan fired missiles between May 8 and May 10, which led to military-level talks and a ceasefire deal, which was agreed on May 10.

Bilawal said the United States helped make the ceasefire happen and singled out former President Trump and Senator Rubio. Nevertheless, India rejected the claim, explaining that both nations had successfully de-escalated through conversations between their Directors General of Military Operations (DGsMO).
