New Delhi: Delhi Police’s special cell nabbed Mohammad Asraf Alias Ali, a Pakistan-based terrorist from Laxmi Nagar today, averting a major terror attack on Navratri. He was living with a fake identity of an Indian national in Delhi’s Shashtri Nagar. One AK-47 assault rifle with one extra magazine and 60 rounds, one hand grenade, two sophisticated pistols with 50 rounds were recovered.
“It is a good catch by special cell ahead of the festive season. A big terror plan has been foiled by our team”, said Rakesh Asthana, the Delhi Commissioner of Police. Mr. Asthana was monitoring the special cell operation. The accused has been booked under the relevant provisions of the Unlawful Activities (prevention) Act, Explosive Act, Arms Act, and other provisions.
Sources reveal that Mohammad Ali hails from Pakistan’s Punjab province and is a big part of the Sleeper Cell. A search has been conducted at his present address at Ramesh Park in Delhi’s Laxmi Nagar.
