Maharashtra : The Udhhav Thackeray faction of Shiv Sena suffered a big jolt after a big number of its party workers from Worli joined the Eknath Shinde faction at CM Eknath Shinde’s official Bungalow Varsha.
The major shuffle comes ahead of the Dussehra rally, for which the former Shiv Sena faction claimed by Thackeray side had got permission to organize the event. According to reports, three to four thousand Shiv Sainiks from Aaditya Thackeray’s constiteuncy have joined Shinde faction.
A week ago, Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena was granted permission to hold the dussehra rally between October 2 and October 6.
The Shiv Sena faction led by former Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray had moved the Bombay High Court seeking permission to hold its annual Dussehra rally at Shivaji Park in central Mumbai.
The plea stated that Shiv Sena has held a rally at Shivaji Park every year since 1966. In 1989, the party was registered, and even when the issue of Shivaji Park being a recreational ground where such events should not be held was raging, the Bombay High Court had granted the party permission to hold the rally from 2015 to 2019.
