New Delhi: Amidst the Bharat Band called by the Samyukt Kisan Morcha today train operations have been adversely affected in the national capital, Ambala and Ferozepur divisions as agitators are seen blocking the railway tracks. More than 20 locations have been reportedly blocked by the protests in Delhi sources claimed. The Northern railways have reported cancelling 25 trains due to the blockade in Ambala and Ferozepur divisions.

Delhi witnessed a huge traffic jam in parts of the city blocked by the protestors. A sea of vehicles was seen entering Delhi from Gurugram. Citing the bandh Delhi Police blocked all traffic movement from UP towards Ghaziapur, the Delhi-Amritsar NH at Shahabad in Kurukshetra Haryana. A close source also reveals that the Punjab-Haryana border has also been blocked until 4 pm.

Meanwhile, protestors in Punjab staged a similar agitation blocking the railways in Devidaspura village in Amritsar supporting the Bharat Bandh. Farmers in states like Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Telangana are also staging protests in support of the framers at the centre.

The SMK an umbrella of 40 farmers union had called for a Bharat Bandh today to mark the first anniversary of their protest against the three contentious farm laws. The farmer’s body had announced to hold peaceful protest across the nation and would make sure all daily activities were suspended. However, the protestors have asserted that no emergency service would be affected by the agitation.
