New Delhi: AAP party leader and Punjab CM designate Bhagwant Mann met Governor Banwarilal Purohit to stake claim to form the new govt in the state. Interacting with the media outside the Raj Bhawan, Mann said, “People from houses across Punjab will come to the ceremony, they will also pay tribute to Bhagat Singh. We will have a good cabinet, historic decisions -that were never made before – will be made. So, you will have to wait.”
Mann would be taking the oath in Khatkar Kalan, the native place of freedom fighter Bhagat Singh on March 16th. It is expected that AAP leader Kejriwal would also be present at the ceremony.
The 48-year-old comedian turned politician won the Dhuri constituency by 58,000 votes and was elected as the leader of the legislative party on Friday in Mohali. In his first directions to Aam Aadmi Party’s new MLAs, Mr Mann asked them to spend maximum time in their constituencies, not in capital Chandigarh, and don’t hanker for cabinet berths
Meanwhile, in Goa current CM Pramod Sawant is likely to continue term as the BJP is set to form a new govt after a landslide victory.
