Bengaluru: The newly inaugurated Bengaluru-Mysuru Highway got flooded merely six days after prime minister Narendra Modi inaugurated it. The highway got flooded owing to the heavy rainfall in the Ramangara region of Karnataka on Friday.
YSR from Telangana State Renewable Energy Development Corporation took to his Twitter account to tweet a video of the highway and wrote “Have a look at the newly inaugurated Bengaluru-Mysuru expressway which couldn’t withstand moderate rain, never hurry & rush to open incomplete expressway for elections”.
The highway was built with the aim to decongest the traffic from Bengaluru to Mysuru, thereby reducing the travel time between the two cities from three hours to seventy-five minutes. Inundated six days after inauguration, the infrastructure has been slammed by many commuters on social media platform, Twitter.
“Newly inaugurated Bengaluru-Mysuru Highway by Narendra Modi. It’s condition after 6 days of inauguration. Masterstroke”, wrote a commuter on Twitter.
Notably, this is the same underbridge that was flooded last year when Karnataka received unprecedented rains.
