Big revelations in the Umesh Pal murder case have surfaced. Gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed accused of killing lawyer Umesh Pal key witness in the murder case of BSP MLA Raju Pal confessed that he had hatched a conspiracy within the jail to kill Umesh Pal.
As per the remand compy accessed by media reporters, it is learned that his wife Shaista had updated him on the security system of Umesh Pal. Umesh Pal during his murder had two gunmen accompanying him who were also slain by Atiq Ahmed and co.
Earlier on Thursday Atiq Ahmed’s son Asad Ahmed and his henchman were killed in an encounter in Jhansi.
Further during the interrogation, Atiq revealed to have contacts with the Pakistani spy agency ISU and the terror organization Laskhar-e Taiba. ” I have no shortage of weapons said Atiq according to the remand copy. Elaborating on his access to weapons, Atiq said that the terror outfits would drop the weapons at the Punjab border and local sources would collect them and deliver them to the designated address.
The remand copy further mentioned that Atiq Ahmed smuggled a cell phone and a sim card into the jail with the help of a govt official, who is now under the radar.
Atiq’s statement was recorded on Wednesday under Section 161. Since his arrest his wife has been absconding and teams have been mobilized to nab her.
It remains to see if Atiq Ahmed would be able to see his son for the last time. Asad Ahmed will be buried in the Kasari Masari area of Pragyaraj under the supervision of their maternal grandfather according to sources.
