Kannur: In a bizarre incident, the family of an IT Dept retained his dead body assuming he is in coma. The incident is reported from Kannur, where Mr Dixit an employee of the IT dept had died in April 2021 however, his family was reluctant to perform the last rites claiming he was in a state of coma not dead.
The incident came to the fore after the Chief Medical officer investigated the death of Mr Dixit whose family pension wasn’t claimed at all since last year. “I was informed by Kannur’s IT official, who requested that the matter be investigated as the family pension filed hadn’t moved an inch”- he said. On Friday, the CMO along with police officers and the magistrate reached the deceased’s home in Rawatpur and find out about the body being possessed by the family members.
Official giving insights about the incident said that Mr Dixit’s wife appears to be mentally unstable. She used to sprinkle Gangajal on his decomposed body every morning in hopes that he would come out of coma.
The body after much persuasion was taken to Lala Lajpat Rai Hospital where medical tests declared him dead. As per hospital reports, Dixit died due to sudden cardiac respiratory syndrome on 22nd April 2021.
