A recent campaign was launched by the Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, who ridiculed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and said that the latter listened to his suggestion about his beard. Sarma said this while speaking to a news agency: when he said that Gandhi, with a long beard in the 2022 ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’, resembled former Iraqi dictator, Saddam Hussein, Gandhi quickly shaved off the beard. Joking, Sarma told Gandhi that after shaving his face, he looked like “Amul boy. ” He went further to remind Gandhi that, having grown a light beard after his comment, the Congress leader listened to him.
Assam CM Sarma also criticized Gandhi’s dress code, wondering if changing into a t-shirt is a big deal for the Congress leader. They say that it is sad for a country to have an opposition led by someone who talks much about wearing a t-shirt only… Sarma said this.
The BJP leader further vilified Gandhi for brandishing a book he asserted was the Constitution of India at political rallies. Sarma rightly stressed that the Indian Constitution has a blue color hard cover, and therefore, Gandhi could hold a different one altogether, perhaps the Chinese Constitution. “If that Lal Kitab, which Rahul Gandhi tried to show in his rallies is the Constitution of India, then why Congress is anti-UCC? It is Baba Saheb’s constitution which says let’s have UCC, but Congress will have a line in their manifesto that we will impose Sharia law.”
Sarma meheshed the performances and the policy prospects of the current NDA under the prime ministership of Narendra Modi, Speaking about BJP led NDA’s prospective policy undertakings in case they got 400 seats in the coming Lok Sabha elections. These include Ravishankar composing the bricks for the construction of Krishna Janmbhoomi temple located in Mathura, and the ‘Kashi Vishwanath temple,’ which replacing Gyanvapi Mosque is planned to be developed at Varanasi, the enactment of the Uniform Civil Code (U.C.C.).
