On Saturday, Ashwini Vaishnaw visited refurbished sample coaches of the next-generation Amrit Bharat trains at the New Delhi railway station, as this has been a significant initiative of the Indian Railways to improve the comfort of the passengers and modernise the system of train travelling.

The new-designed coaches have renewed colour schemes and better parts, comprising PVC flooring, better seat and berth rexine, redesigned curtains, snack tables and modified lavatory sections. The harmonized colour schemes are to give a modern, elegant and uniform appearance that is as well to be maintained easily across coaches.

The officials claim that the material of the upgraded coaches meets the requirements of HL3 fire safety, which will considerably decrease the probability of fire risks and enhance the overall safety of passengers. The redesign is not just about aesthetics but also functionality, and there is a better use of space, and the hygiene standard is better, particularly in washroom facilities.

The project is also a part of wider modernization of Indian Railways rolling stock and the ability to provide a more comfortable, safe, and world-class travel experience to its passengers of all categories. The renovated coaches will enhance onboard atmosphere and serve the changing needs of travellers.

Vaishnaw also posted news on social media, saying that the railway has made a series of coach models with new designs and improved facilities, such as improved toilet infrastructure.

The Amrit Bharat train project is an indication of the government to modernize its railway infrastructure and improve it through design, safety measures, and passenger-oriented facilities so that long-distance travel in India is changed.
