New Delhi: After being granted bail by the Allahabad Court on 10th February, Ashish Mishra accused in a case related to the deaths of four farmers and a journalist in Lakhimpur Kheri will walk out of jail on Tuesday.
The court on Monday decided to add the missing sections after a correction application was filed by the accused lawyer. The court today added, Section 302( murder) and 120B ( criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal code. The paperwork for the release underway awaits notice from the court for the revised bail order.
Angered by the bail, Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) leaders Friday, announced they would hold peaceful protests against Modi during his visit to Pathankot on February 16 and Abohar on February 18. Modi and other leaders of his office will be visiting Punjab for election rallies in the last week of campaigning as the state is underway polls on February 20.
Hearing the case on 10th February, the Allahabad HC stated that there was no “no firearm injury” found on any of those present on spot. It added, “there might be a possibility that the driver tried to speed up the vehicle to save himself, on account of which, the incident had taken place”. Justice Rajeev Singh granted the bail and pronounced the order. “The crux of all the statements of the witnesses… recorded by the Investigating Officer… is that the applicant was sitting in the Thar vehicle and he was saying to his driver to hit the protesters,” the court said in its order.
