After thrashing shepherds near the jungle canal of Mohana on Sunday afternoon, around three armed miscreants stole goats worth more than one lakh. On the report of shepherd Kalyan Singh, the Mohana police station has registered a case of livestock theft against the miscreants. This incident comes in the backdrop of polices’ denial on presence of armed criminals in the forest.

On Saturday, Mohana Kalyan’s son Dev, who lives near the old police station, took roughly 90 goats to graze in the jungle. Around 12 p.m., a group of armed thugs surrounded the shepherds.

With the use of weapons, the criminals demanded Rs 50,000 ransom for grazing livestock in the Simaria Tanka forest. According to source, this incident was held under the guidance of Kalli and Mahavir Gurjar.

Dev immediately registered a police complaint following which the police officials set into action.
