Lucknow: Three individuals are currently being investigated in connection with the alleged murder of a 26-year man named Vinay Srivastava in Lucknow. The unfortunate discovery of Srivastava’s body, which had suffered from a gunshot wound, was made at the residence of Union Minister Kaushal Kishore. Senior police officials shared these details on Friday.
Srivastava, who ran a car washing business, had an association with the minister’s son, Vikas Kishore (29). Interestingly, Vikas was not present at the scene during this incident as he was in Delhi.
Authorities have confirmed that the Union minister does not frequently stay at the residence where the crime took place. On Friday morning Srivastava’s lifeless body was found under the staircase of Kishore’s house located in the Begraiya Kala area.
One of the residents of the house, now considered one of the suspects, informed the minister’s staff about this tragic discovery, who then alerted law enforcement authorities.
Notably, during an investigation at the crime scene, a licensed revolver registered under Vikas Kishore’s name was found. Deputy Commissioner of Police for Lucknow West Rahul Raj clarified that there was indeed a match between the gun found at the site and Srivastava’s wound. “It is believed that the firearm we found may be connected to Vikas Kishore and we are currently, in the process of confirming this ” he said.
An interesting development in the story occurred when Akash Kulhary, the commissioner of police (crime), suggested that the motive behind this incident could be a dispute related to gambling. Reportedly Srivastava lost ₹12,000 during a card game that took place at the residence on that night.
