AMRITSAR: Fugitive Amritpal Singh’s British national wife Kirandeep Kaur was stopped at the Shri Guru Ram Dass International Airport as she was trying to board a flight to London by Punjab police said sources.

The news was confirmed by a senior police officer who added that an LoC was issued against her. The officer added that she was not detained but stopped for interrogation. Kirandeep is a citizen of the United Kingdom and is a UK passport holder. She has no case filed against her in Punjab or in any part of the country.

The self-styled preacher, who returned from Dubai last year, tied the knot in a simple ceremony in February. Since then, she has been staying in Punjab. At present, she is residiing in Jallupur Khera, the native village of Amritpal Singh in Amritsar district.

On Thursday, she was not allowed to enter the airport by the immigration department as she arrived at the airport to Amritsar to London (Air India AI 169) flight scheduled for its departure at 1:20 pm, said sources in Punjab Police. As of now, she is being questioned at the airport only.
