New Delhi- In a late-night meeting with wrestlers, Union Home Minister Amit Shah reportedly assured them that the law would take its course in the case involving sexual assault charges against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.
Top wrestlers, including Bajrang Punia, Sakshi Malik, and Vinesh Phogat, met with Home Minister Amit Shah to discuss their protest against Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. However, Sakshi Malik and Vinesh Phogat have distanced themselves from the ongoing protest. The wrestlers accused Singh of sexual harassment, including the harassment of a minor. The wrestlers had threatened to throw their medals into the Ganges but later gave them to farmers’ leaders. Rajya Sabha MP Kapil Sibal criticized the government, predicting that Singh would not be arrested and would be granted bail.
