Amit Shah, Union Home Minister, spoke on Sunday and was quite sure that the NDA BJP would be back in power in the 2029 Lok Sabha elections. At the inauguration of the Nyay Setu water supply project, while addressing his supporters, Shah asserted that the NDA was going to be a long-term powerhouse and would romp in the future.
Amit Shah responded to the speculation and criticism by the opposition parties, stating that though the opposition parties are doing everything to reject the incumbent government, the NDA is not only going to finish the present term successfully but also going to win the next election. Thus, despite the attempts of the opposition to disturb the situation, the NDA will successfully rule in 2029, and Narendra Modi will remain the Prime Minister, Shah stated. He pointed out that in recent elections, the BJP secured more than the total seats of Congress in the last three elections, putting forward a strength for the BJP.
The 2024 Lok Sabha means the sixth Lok Sabha, and in that election, the – BJP secured 240 parliamentary seats, but in the previous year, it secured 303 parliamentary seats. Still, the NDA was able to form the government with support from allies such as the Telugu Desam Party and the Janata Dal (United). Narendra Modi has been in his third consecutive term as the Prime Minister; this has not been accomplished since the first Prime Minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru.
On the other hand, the INDIA bloc proved to be a strong rival, and it obtained over 230 seats. The Congress party had a notably better performance; the party secured 99 seats- their best since the 2009 general elections when they secured 206 seats. In Uttar Pradesh, the BJP AIMIM and SBSP reduced their places from 62 to 33, while RLD came up with only two places. The BJP and allied parties secured 73 seats in 2014 and 64 in 2019 in general polls in the state.
