NEW DELHI: On Monday (August 17), Union Home Minister Amit Shah has admitted to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi, due to chest infection, but his condition is stable, stated the AIIMS press release.

Shah had underwent a CT scan at a private hospital as per reports. The test results showed that he has infection in his chest. He decided to admit himself at AIIMS on the advice of his medicos. He is, now, under the visual examination of AIIMS director Dr Randeep Guleria who is a chest specialist. For 24 hours, he remains under visual examination at AIIMS.

In a press release, AIIMS, Delhi issued a statement in which it stated that “Home Minister Amit Shah has been admitted to AIIMS(All India Institute of Medical Sciences) for post COVID care. He is comfortable & is continuing his work from hospital.”

On August 14, Union Minister Shah had tested negative for the coronavirus, approximately a fortnight after he had tested positive for the viral disease. The Home Minister himself had promulgated his test results on twitter.
