Amidst Corona vaccine drive, National Capital Re-opens Schools after 10 Months

New Delhi: The Delhi government, on Monday, re-opened government and private schools for students studying in 10th and 12th standards, after almost 10 months from the time the educational institutes were also forced to shut along with a nationwide lockdown.

The step has been taken in view of the upcoming board examinations to be held by the Central Board of Secondary Examination. The board exams, so far, are to be held in May 2021.

The Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi and Education Minister Manish Sisodia on Monday took to his Twitter handle to convey his best wishes to the students who are visiting their schools after months.

In his recent Twitter post, he shared a collage of screenshots from different English and Hindi news portals containing the news, and captioned it – “Best wishes to the students of class 10th and 12th who are going to visit their schools today after 10 months… (though it’s only for limited purpose and with covid protocols..) But still… I am glad that schools are opening in Delhi today.”

The principal of Sarvodaya Kanya Bal Vidhyalaya No-3, Kusum Shahwali, claimed that her school is strictly following all the covidnorms, while the Principal of Harcourt Butler School in Delhi, Neera Rao, asserted that the students need revisions before the board examinations which could only be done with their presence in offline classes.
