Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Akhilesh Yadav announced on Monday that his party will participate in Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Nyay Yatra once the seat-sharing arrangement with the Congress is settled. In interactions with the media, Akhilesh Yadav revealed that talks between the Samajwadi Party and the Congress are progressing, with both parties exchanging lists regarding the seat-sharing deal.
“We are currently in discussions; lists have been received from them, and we have also provided our list. Once seat distribution is finalized, the Samajwadi Party will join their Nyaya Yatra,” stated Akhilesh Yadav. In an interview with a news agency, Yadav highlighted that the delay in finalizing the seat-sharing deal is attributed to Rahul Gandhi’s insistence on specific candidates and seats. This discussion between both parties might take some time to be finalized as the seat sharing will be a major part of their negotiations.
Ongoing negotiations involve Akhilesh Yadav, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, and Mallikarjun Kharge. However, a conclusive agreement is yet to be reached. Mallikarjun Kharge had earlier extended an invitation to Akhilesh Yadav, urging the Samajwadi Party to join Rahul Gandhi’s yatra in Amethi or Raebareli. Akhilesh Yadav subsequently accepted the invitation.
The collaborative efforts between the SP and Congress for the upcoming elections are crucial, and the seat-sharing arrangement is a key aspect of this alliance. As discussions continue, the political landscape in Uttar Pradesh remains dynamic, with both parties striving to reach a consensus that aligns with their respective electoral strategies.
The participation of the Samajwadi Party in Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Nyay Yatra holds significance, as it reflects a united front against common political opponents. The ongoing talks indicate the complexities of alliance-building and the need for strategic decisions to maximize electoral success. As the negotiation process unfolds, political observers await the final resolution of the seat-sharing agreement between the Samajwadi Party and the Congress in Uttar Pradesh. Congress is also facing various challenges in the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, as various members have also left the party in the last few months.
