New Delhi: India today sent its first flight to Ukraine to lift its citizens stranded in the ex-Soviet Union amidst the soaring tensions between Russia and the West. This departure came after the MCA eased the Air Bubble norms for flights flying between Ukraine and India.
Air India’s Boeing Dreamliner B-787 aircraft was one of the first of the three flights Air India had announced to operate between Ukraine and India. Dreamliner with a capacity of 200 seats, would arrive at the national capital at 10:15 pm tonight. The flight could accommodate more than 200 passengers, will operate at the Boryspil International Airport, Ukraine’s largest airport.
Besides this Air India under Vande Bharat Mission would deploy two more flights on February 24 and 25th to ferry those stranded in the crisis struck nation. The stranded citizens could book flights vis Air India booking offices, website, call centre or nay authorized travel agent.
Concerned about its citizens in the Ex-Soviet Union, India at the UNSC called for restraint on all sides. India’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, TS Tirumurti said, “The immediate priority is a de-escalation of tensions taking into account the legitimate security interests of all countries and aimed towards securing long-term peace and stability in the region and beyond.
