Mumbai: Mumbai Police detained a person in connection with a death threat given to Shiv Sena (Uddhav Thackeray clan) MP Sanjay Raut using the name of the jailed gangster, Lawrence Bishnoi. The person will also be interrogated related to the threat message to actor Salman Khan, said Mumbai Police.

Raut was threatened to be eliminated like Punjabi Singer Sidhu Moosewala, who was shot dead last year. Maharashtra Deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis said that the man has been identified and it appears that he had sent the threat message under the influence of alcohol. Deputy CM has assured of a detailed probe in the matter.

Raut allegedly received the threat via text messages and a call that claimed he will be shot with an AK-47 rifle if he is spotted in New Delhi. The Shiv Sena leader had filed a complaint in this regard. Confirming the development, a police official said, “Sanjay Raut received death threats stating he will meet Sidhu Moose Wala’s fate. He got the threat from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The message said that if you met in Delhi, will kill you with an AK-47. He wrote a letter to the police complaining about the matter.
