New Delhi: India recorded 6,395 fresh infections in the past 24 hours, taking the tally of COVID-19 cases to 4,44,78,636, The recovery rate at 98.76 per cent accounted for 6,614 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 4,39,00,204.
The daily positivity rate stood at 1.96 per cent. The number of active cases stood at 50,342 accounting for 0.11 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a drop of 252 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate stood at 1.19 per cent recorded 33 fatalities taking the cumulative death toll to 5,28,090.
With the administration of 36,31,977 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 214.27 crore according to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Out of these 94.43 crore beneficiaries have received the second dose while 17.49 crore have been jabbed with the precautionary dose.
In the last 24 hours, ICMR tested 3,25,602 infected samples. So far, 88.83 crore tests have been conducted.
