New Delhi: India recorded 4,858 fresh infections in the past 24 hours, taking the tally to 4,45,39,046. The recovery rate at 98.71 per cent accounted for 4,735 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 4,39,62,664. The daily positivity rate stood at 2.76 per cent and the weekly positivity rate at 1.78 per cent.
The number of active cases stood at 48,027 accounting for 0.11 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a rise of 105 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate stood at 1.19 per cent recorded 18 fatalities taking the cumulative death toll to 5,28,355.
With the administration of 13,59,361 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 216.70 crore according to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
According to the health ministry updated data, over 203.11 crore (2,03,11,98,325) vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far through Govt. of India (free of cost channel) and through direct state procurement category. More than 3.67 Cr (3,67,68,140) balance and unutilized COVID Vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs to be administered, it added.
In the last 24 hours, ICMR tested 1,75,935 infected samples. So far, 89.17 crore tests have been conducted.
