New Delhi: India on Monday logged 16,135 new coronavirus cases taking the infection tally to 4,35,18,564. The active caseload spiked to 1,13,864 after an addition of 2,153 active cases in the past 24 hours accounting for 0.26 per cent. A total of 4,28,79,477recuperated so far. According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare over 13000 affected individuals have recovered in the past 24 hours accounting for 98.53 per cent.

The death toll climbed to 5,25,223 with the addition of 24 deaths. The mortality rate was recorded at 1.21 per cent while the daily positivity rate stood at 4.85 per cent.

A total of 3,32,978 samples were tested on Sunday, taking cumulative samples tested till date to 86,39,99,907.

With the administration of 1.78 lakh doses on Sunday, 197.98 crore beneficiaries have been immunized under the national vaccination drive, according to the Health Ministry.

As per statistics issued by MOHFW based on the data submitted by state health departments, more than 193.53 crores (1,93,53,58,865) vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far through Govt. of India (free of cost channel) and through direct state procurement category. More than 11.18 Cr (11,18,91,910) balance and unutilized COVID Vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs to be administered.
