New Delhi: India recorded 7,946 fresh infections in the past 24 hours. The recovery rate at 98.67 per cent accounted for 9,828 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 4,38,45,680. The daily positivity rate stood at 2.98 per cent.

The number of active cases stood at 62,748 accounting for 0.14 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a drop of 1,919 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate stood at 1.19 per cent recorded 37 fatalities taking the cumulative death toll to 5,27,911.

With the administration of 12,90,443 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 212.52 crore according to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Around 15,97,16,876 precautionary doses have been administered so far. More than 4.03 Cr children between 12-14 years age have been jabbed with the first dose of COVID vaccine.

According to the health ministry, more than 201.33 crore (2,01,33,02,325) vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far through Govt. of India (free of cost channel) and through direct state procurement category. More than 5.60 Cr (5,60,57,420) balance and unutilized COVID Vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs to be administered.
