New Delhi: India recorded 4,518 new coronavirus infections taking the tally of COVID-19 cases to 4,31,81,335. While the number of active cases climbed to 25,782 accounting for 0.06 per cent of the total number of cases.
The active cases reported an increase of 1,730 in the last 24 hours. The daily positivity rate stood at 1.62 per cent. The number of people who have recuperated from the disease surged to 4,26,30,852.
The case fatality rate stood at 1.22 per cent. With nine fresh virus related deaths, the death toll climbed to 5,24,701. The nine new fatalities include four from Kerala, two from Uttar Pradesh and one each from Maharashtra, Karnataka and West Bengal.
With the administration of 2.57 lakh vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 194.12 crore according to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
