New Delhi: India recorded 5,221 fresh infections in the past 24 hours. The recovery rate at 98.71 per cent accounted for 5,975 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 4,39,25,239.

The daily positivity rate stood at 2.82 per cent. The number of active cases stood at 47,176 accounting for 0.11 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a drop of 769 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate stood at 1.19 per cent recorded 15 fatalities taking the cumulative death toll to 5,28,165. The 11 new fatalities include three from Maharashtra and two each from Chhattisgarh and Delhi along with four deaths reconciled by Kerala.

With the administration of 30,76,305 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 215.26 crore according to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

As per the recent data, over 202.53 crore (2,02,53,52,325) vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far through Govt. of India (free of cost channel) and through direct state procurement category. More than 4.39 Cr (4,39,87,660) balance and unutilized COVID Vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs to be administered it added.

In the last 24 hours, ICMR tested 1,84,965 infected samples. So far, 88.95 crore tests have been conducted.
