New Delhi: India adds 5,108 fresh infections in the past 24 hours, taking the total tally of COVID-19 cases to 4,45,10,057. The recovery rate at 98.71 per cent accounted for 5,675 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 4,39,36,092.
The daily positivity rate stood at 1.44 per cent. The number of active cases stood at 45,749 accounting for 0.10 per cent of the total number of cases. However, the mortality rate stood at 1.19 per cent recorded 19 fatalities taking the cumulative death toll to 52,82,16.
With the administration of 19,25,881 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 215.67 crore according to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
According to the health ministry, more than 202.52 crore (2,02,52,52,325) vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far through Govt. of India (free of cost channel) and through direct state procurement category. More than 3.98 Cr (3,98,91,440) balance and unutilized COVID Vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs to be administered, the bulletin added.
In the last 24 hours, ICMR tested 3,55,231 infected samples. So far, 89.02 crore tests have been conducted.
