New Delhi: Arvind Kejriwal has tightened security outside the CBI headquarters as Delhi’s Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal appears before the central agency in connection with the excise police case. Over 1000 security personnel including paramilitary forces have been deployed outside the CBI headquarters and section 144 of the Criminal Penal Code has been imposed in the area to ensure no gathering of more than four people takes place.
Aam Admi Party staged a protest against CBI’s summon at Raj Ghat today. The protest was a silent march that began from CM Kejriwal’s residence after a high-level meeting. Arvind Kejriwal was seen along his advisor and Punjab’s CM Bhagwant Mann. “Including many AAP MLAs, Modi Ji’s police has detained the crime: peacefully protesting sitting on the road in the scorching heat, raising voice against affecting the work of the honest government of AAP!”, tweeted Aam Admi Party on its official Twitter account as AAP leaders staged dharna peacefully outside CBI headquarters.
Meanwhile, the Aam Admi Party claimed on Saturday that the probe is a result of Prime Minister Narendra Modi being scared after AAP became a national party. CM Kejriwal will go to the office and cooperate in the investigation, said AAP leader Atishi in a conference on Saturday.
The Enforcement Directorate has alleged that a portion of the alleged Rs 100 crores kickbacks generated in the scrapped Delhi Excise Policy was used in the Goa Assembly election campaign by AAP in 2022.
