New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party MLA Amanatullah Khan has been sent to 14 days in judicial custody by Delhi’s Rouse Avenue court today in connection with a corruption case.
The MLA’s legal team has filed a bail plea which will be heard tomorrow.
Khan was arrested after the ACB raided his residence and five other places in connection with the matter on Friday last week. The ACB alleged that “illegal appointments” to Waqf board surfaced during the search. It added that a weapon was recovered from Amanatullah Khan of which he could not furnish a licence. Cash worth Rs 12 lakh, and two-three types of cartridges were also seized.
ACB officials added that a total of ₹24 lakh in cash, two illegal arms and ammunition were recovered from two of his associates.
The ACB conducted searches at four locations in Delhi, including at Batla House, Zakir Nagar and Jamia Nagar in connection with the case.
