New Delhi: As many as 100 leaders and workers including MLAs including Sanjay Singh, Rakhi Birla, Sanjay Singh, Jarnail Singh, Kuldeep Kumar were detained outside the CBI office after a massive protest by them against the questioning of Manish Sisodia by the CBI in the liquor policy case.
“We are sitting on a peaceful protest but Modi’s police is dragging and harrassing woman and senior leaders.we are sitting peacefully here, how come section 144 is violating…We are elected representatives and don’t we have respect….This is a complete atrocity by police,’ said AAP leader Sanjay Singh.
AAP MP Sanjay Singh was detained along with other protesters or unlawfully protesting at the CGO complex, where large gatherings are banned, a senior police officer told interacting with reporters.
Visuals of leaders and workers being shoved into the bus made rounds on social media. Women leaders while taken into the bus by Delhi police faced ‘misbehaviour’ party workers said.
Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia reached the CBI headquarters in the national capital on Monday following the central agency’s summons in connection with excise policy case. He left home after a “tilak” ritual, accompanied by AAP leaders like party MP Sanjay Singh and MLAs Atishi and Saurabh Bhardwaj.
