New Delhi: India reported  94,052   fresh infections in the past 24 hours. This took the cumulative count of infections to 2,91,83,121, stated the Union Health Ministry.

With a recovery rate of 94.77 percent,  1,51,367  individuals recuperated after hospitalization in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to  2,76,55,493. 

The number of active cases has reduced to  11,67,952 accounting for 4 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a decline of  63,463  in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate recorded at 1.23 per cent reported a staggering count of 6,148 deaths, taking the cumulative death toll to 3,59,676.

The new guidelines issued by the centre for COVID-19 in children ruled out the use of Remdesivir and recommended a ‘6-Minute Walk Test’ on children above 12 to assess “cardio-pulmonary exercise tolerance.

 As per MoHFW, 33,79,261 individuals were shielded from the novel virus in the past 24 hours. Overall, 24,27,26,693, were immunized under the mega vaccination drive so far. Additionally, the centre updated the vaccination Registration Portal-CoWIN for citizens to rectify errors in their vaccination certificate. The ‘raise an issue’ feature enables users to make corrections to name, year of birth, and gender on their COVID-19 vaccination certificates by visiting www.cowin.gov.in and ‘Raise an Issue’.
