New Delhi: India recorded 8,865 fresh infections in the past 24 hours. The recovery rate at 98.27 per cent accounted for 11,971 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 3,38,61,756. The daily positivity rate stood at 0.80 per cent, less than 2 per cent for 43 consecutive days.

The number of active cases stood at 1,30,793 lowest in 525 days accounting for 0.38 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a decline of 3303 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate recorded at 1.35 per cent reported a spike in deaths recording 197 fatalities, taking the cumulative death toll to 4,63,852.

Mizoram leads northeastern states with most number of daily cases. In the past 24 hours, the state health bulletin documented 611 new cases and one fatality. Second worst hit state Kerala, continues to report significant rise recording 4,547 fresh infections in the last 24 hours. The death toll also rose after 127 deaths were observed. Singapore has announced to allow vaccinated arrivals from five more countries, including India, to access the country without quarantine via its travel lanes from Nov. 29, its transport minister said on Monday.

Over 112.97 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in the country so far, including 59.75 lakh doses administered in the last 24 hours.

As per ICMR, 11.07 lakh infected samples were tested in the last 24 hours. So far 62.57 crore samples have been tested.
