New Delhi: India recorded 8,813 fresh infections in the past 24 hours. The recovery rate at 98.56 per cent accounted for 15,040 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 4,36,38,844.
The daily positivity rate stood at 4.15 per cent. The number of active cases stood at 1,11,252 accounting for 0.25 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a drop of 6,256 in the last 24 hours.
However, the mortality rate stood at 1.19 per cent recorded 29 fatalities taking the cumulative death toll to 5,27,098. With the administration of 6,10,863 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 208.31 crore according to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
More than 199.01 crore (1,99,01,83,135) vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far through Govt. of India (free of cost channel) and through direct state procurement category, the health ministry said. It further added that more than 6.98 Cr (6,98,57,850) balance and unutilized COVID Vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs to be administered.
