Surat: Seven people died while some others are feared trapped after a multi-storey building collapsed in Gujarat’s Surat. The collapse occurred amid heavy rain for several days in the region.the body of three others were pulled out in the night, informed the Surat Police Commissioner Anupam Singh Gehlot.
The incident happened on Saturday afternoon. The rescue operation still continues. The death toll was confirmed by the Chief Fire Officer of Surat, Basant Pareek. The search operation continued even in the night. We have recovered seven dead bodies”, said Basant Pareek.
At least six to seven people were feared trapped. Rescue operations has been initiated by the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF).
