India recorded 14,348 fresh infections in the past 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry reported.


The recovery rate at 98.19 per cent accounted for 13,198 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 3,36,27,632. The daily positivity rate stood at 1.12 per cent, less than 2 per cent since the past 25 days.


The active caseload stands at 1,61,334 accounting for 0.47 per cent of the total number of cases. 345 active cases were reported in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate recorded at 1.34 per cent reported 805 fatalities, taking the cumulative death toll to 4,57,191.

Amid the fears of third COVID-19 wave, the 6th Serological survey in Delhi, the national capital revealed that 97 per cent of the capital’s population has COVID-19 antibodies. In contrast to the previous survey conducted in January, a substantial increase from 56.1 per cent has been seen.

The figures revealed that almost all vaccinated people have developed antibodies while four districts of Delhi have over 99 per cent seropositivity. The highest seroprevalence was seen among people above 50 years of age. Meanwhile, several states including Andhra Pradesh, Kerela, karnatka, and Telangana have reported a sub-lineage of the Delta variant of COVID-19, AY.4.2.
