New Delhi: India recorded 67,597 fresh infections in the past 24 hours. The recovery rate at 96.46 per cent accounted for 1,80,456 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 4,08,40,658. The daily positivity rate stood at 5.02 per cent.
The number of active cases stood at 9,94,891 accounting for 2.35 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a drop to 1,14,047 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate at 1.19 per cent reported spike in deaths recording 1188 fatalities, taking the cumulative death toll to 5,04,062.
Worst hit state Maharashtra reported 6,436 new cases during the last 24 hours. This took the cumulative active tally to 78,10,136. The active tally stood at 1,100,04 while the death toll rose by 24 to 1,43,098.
