New Delhi: India recorded 6,561 fresh infections in the past 24 hours. The daily COVID cases remained below one lakh for 24 consecutive days.
The recovery rate at 98.62 per cent accounted for 14,947 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 4,23,53,620. The daily positivity rate stood at 0.74 per cent.
The number of active cases stood at 77,152 accounting for 0.18 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a drop of 8,528 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate stood at 1.20 per cent recorded 142 fatalities taking the cumulative death toll to 5,14,388.
With the administration of more than 21 lakh Doses (21,83,976) vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 178 Cr (1,78,02,63,222) according to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
2,87,35,449 adolescents have been immunized completely under the drive. 97,64,745 precautionary doses have been administered to citizens above 60 years.
According to the health ministry, more than 178.48 crore (1,78,48,14,200) vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far through Govt. of India (free of cost channel) and through direct state procurement category. More than 15.19 Cr (15,19,06,236) balance and unutilized COVID Vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs, it added.
