For a few days, the total covid cases reported in India have been crossing the 40,000 mark after almost 2 months. According to the press bureau release of the Government of India on Aug 29, the total covid cases reported in the last 24 hours stand at 45,083 that makes the total active caseload stands at 3,68,558. This number is slightly lower than the numbers released in the Aug 28 press release of the health ministry. The positive cases reported on Aug 28, for the last 24 hours was 46,759, slightly higher than today’s numbers.
The total number of recoveries in the last 24 hours stands at 35,840 which adds to the total recoveries in the country that stands at 3,18,88,642. The recovery rate is currently at 97.53% and the active cases account for 1.13% of the total active caseload now. The weekly positive rate, as released by the health ministry, stands at 2.28% for the last 65 days whereas the daily positivity rate stands at 2.57% for the last 34 days.
The good news above all is that India has administered 63.09 Crore vaccine doses so far under its nationwide vaccination campaign. It was an overwhelming moment for the countrymen when PM Modi tweeted that one crore vaccination was administered on Friday alone. A total of 73.8 lakh vaccine doses have been administered in the last 24 hours. Meanwhile, 51.86 cr covid tests have also been done so far in the country. With such good numbers, let’s hope we do not get hit by another wave soon!
