India recorded 42,909 fresh infections in the past 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry reported. The recovery rate at 97.51 per cent accounted for 34,763 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 3,19,23,405. The daily positivity rate stood at 3.02 per cent.
The active caseload stands at 3,76,324 accounting for 1.15 per cent of the total number of cases. A rise in active cases by 7766 was recorded in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate recorded at 1.34 per cent reported 380 fatalities, taking the cumulative death toll to 4,38,210.
Amongst all the states of India Himachal Pradesh has successfully administered the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine to all its adult citizens. The State Health Ministry has informed to administer the second dose to 100 per cent of the adult population by November.
