New Delhi: India recorded 4,129 fresh infections in the past 24 hours. The recovery rate at 98.72 per cent accounted for 4,688 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 4,40,00,298.
The daily positivity rate stood at 2.51 per cent. The number of active cases stood at 43,415 accounting for 0.10 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a drop of 579 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate stood at 1.19 per cent recorded 23 fatalities taking the cumulative death toll to 5,28,530.
With the administration of 11,67,772 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 217.68 crore according to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan has directed states/UTs to do surveillance of incoming international travelers as a part of revised surveillance strategy in context of covid-19.
