New Delhi: PM Modi interacted with the beneficiaries of ‘Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojna’ through video conferencing today. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan and Governor Mangubhai Patel were also present to grace the program. Ministers and food sector officials from Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Assam, Tripura, Haryana, Goa, and Arunachal Pradesh also participated in this program.
“Make every kind of facility available everywhere” said PM Modi during the interactions. He also added that the Government of India is also making efforts to give maximum benefits to farmers, laborers, and other weaker sections of the society.
Sources reveal that more than 4.8 crore people have been benefited in the state from PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojna. While congratulating the state and its beneficiaries, PM took the opportunity to interact with Deep Kumar of Satna, a laborer. PM asked if he faces any problem in taking ration, to which Deep replied negatively.
Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojna, 2020 is a food security welfare scheme announced by the Government of India and operated by the Department of Food and Public Distribution. The government announced the scheme amid the COVID-19 crises aiming to feed the poorest citizens by providing them grains.
